Many mineral exploration projects are completed from base camps located in remote areas. This requires gear to be crated and shipped by plains, trains and automobiles…and trucks.
Sometimes multiple modes of transportation are required to get around (aside: that helicopter was used in The Fugitive (1993) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozcoTYhpU8U )
Communications are also important, often using two different radios for communication among the field crew and the camp…plus satellite phones and sometimes Starlink internet.
The gear is often stored, maintained, dried-out and batteries recharged in separate tents or shacks.
…and for the crew separate kitchen, dining, laundry, shower and bathroom stalls are setup.
A typical bush camp office is just a desk made from a pallet with everything you need at you fingertips or nearby.
